ROSE, Raymond Harry July 19, 1920 – April 22, 2015 Ray lived well for almost 95 years. Born in Victoria, son of Joseph and Sonia Rose. Survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Annette; daughters, Andrea Fill (Ian) and Joanne Helm (Jon); grandchildren Jennifer Fill and Dan Fill and great-grandson, Noah Fill and niece, Gillian Rose. He attended Sir James Douglas School and Vic High. He was a bombardier in the RCAF during WW2 and flew 33 missions over Europe. He was owner/manager of the family business, Rose’s Jewelers, started by his father in 1912, until his retirement in 1986. Ray was an active member of the Victoria community. He belonged to Sales and Marketing Executives, the Downtown Business Assoc. and was the oldest member of Victoria Kiwanis. He belonged to the Uplands Golf Club, Air Force Officers Assoc., Canadian Jewellers Assoc. and Probus. Ray was a devoted family man and he was respected and liked by colleagues, employees and friends. He gave generously of his time and money to charity. He loved golf, wrestling and boxing. He and Annette loved to travel, and family was a priority The funeral will be held at the Jewish Cemetery, 2750 Cedar Hill Road, Friday, April 24 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s honour may be made to Kiwanis, the Jewish Community Centre or Congregation Emanu-el.

Ray married Annette Cohen in 1945. Their daughters also worked in the store.
