Her obituary published in the Victoria Times-Colonist from 14 – 16 December 2024 reads as follows:

Annette was born in Calgary, the oldest child of Hyman and Mary Cohen. She came to Victoria in 1945 to marry the love of her life Raymond Rose (predeceased in 2015). Mother of [edited for privacy] and [edited for privacy] (Jon deceased) (North Saanich); grandmother of [edited for privacy] and [edited for privacy] and great grandmother of [edited for privacy].

Annette raised her daughters and worked with her husband Raymond in the family business, Rose’s Jewellers (Victoria). Before she was married she attended UBC to study Home Economics. She was a lifelong learner and long-time docent at the Victoria Art Gallery and volunteered for charities such as Kiwanis. She was the longest-living member of Congregation Temple Emanuel and worked for many Jewish charities, Hadassah Canada Lifetime Member and founding member of the Jewish Community Centre. She hosted and entertained many relatives and businesspeople. She and Ray travelled extensively after retirement and were active members of the Uplands Golf Club.

Annette was gracious and compassionate, and she will be missed by her family and friends. Many thanks for the excellent care from Dr. McKeen and the wonderful, caring staff at Oakwood Manor.
