Phillip Benjamin Brunell

Birth: June 21, 1886 in Vilnius, Vilnius City Municipality, Vilnius, Lithuania

Death: October 23, 1962 (age 76) in Victoria, B.C.

Biography:
His birth city, Vilnius, was fought over and claimed by Lithuania, Poland and Russia. At the time of his birth it was governed by Russia. It was then known to non-Lithuanians as “Vilna” or “Vilno”. In 1991 the Soviet Union recognized Lithuanian independence, and Vilnius has remained part of Lithuania since.
