Fixing the Leaning Monuments

On January 30, 2025, Carl Hughes and his team from Meadowlark Memorials straightened the monuments of Philip Lewis, Benjamin Pruss, David Brown and for the Oppenheimer family plot. We thank Meadowlark Memorials for giving these monuments hopefully at least another century of ‘life’. Click here to follow the project.

Professor Erin mentored a high school student on a capstone project of cleaning gravestones in the cemetery. The graves of Annabelle and Eli Bean were fully cleaned and the grave of Isaac Alexandor was partially cleaned as was the marker stone for Judge Schultz.

Restoration of Sarah Oppenheimer’s Grave Completed on June 26, 2024

Wilf Bruch of the Old Cemeteries Society restored the grave of Sarah Oppenheimer, wife of businessman, investor, philanthropist, David Oppenheimer. David was the mayor of Vancouver from 1888-1891.
