Jesse Ginsberg

Jesse Abraham Ginsberg (February 28, 1977 – January 3, 2023) was the son of Marsh Ginsberg and Tracy Rivkin and big brother to Travis and Logan. His grandparents, Hyman and Muriel Ginsberg, lived in London, Ontario and then Victoria, BC; his Aunt Janna Ginsberg Bleviss lives in Victoria and his Uncle Harris Ginsberg lives in London, Ontario. Jesse’s other grandfather, Bud Rivkin, lived in Santa Rosa, CA.

A sweet and complicated soul, Jesse left us too soon. He leaves our hearts with a giant hole, as he journeys through an alternate universe. For a man who spent not nearly enough time on this plane, he left quite an impact on those left honoring his memory.

Jesse had a heart of gold, was thoughtful and kind and never showed up anywhere empty-handed. He always asked about your latest venture and genuinely listened. He was brilliant and inquisitive; he left us with lessons of love and caring, and to never forget a good joke. Jesse remembered the finite details of the most obscure concepts and could break them down for others to understand. He was unique, and had a different way of solving problems; he definitely saw and experienced the world differently. Jesse was a man of few words, but boy, were they powerful.

Jesse had a love for the outdoors, mountain biking and a good hike. In his younger days, Jesse even tried skydiving and bungee jumping, much to the chagrin of his mom.

His love for his siblings was unparalleled and he was very protective of them. He bonded with his brother over comic books, a love for wine and an endless supply of movie quotes. He taught his sister how to pick the best produce and his passion for it was contagious. He was good at reminding her that whatever she wanted to achieve, he knew she could, even when she didn’t believe it herself.

As we begin to process the absence that Jesse left, we take solace in knowing that he is at peace, wherever he might be.
