Biography:
Avi Deston,formerly Boris Dotsenko, was a Russian nuclear scientist. He defected in 1966 while on an exchange program at the University of Alberta.. He taught school Yellowknife, NT for two years and married Suzi in 1978.

Herb Mathisen wrote an article in Uphere magazine about Avi Deston, Boris Dotsenko, called The Cold War Comes to a Yellowknife Public School
