Biography:
According to the 1921 Census of Canada, Bessie immigrated to Canada in 1901. Her nationality was listed as Canadian. Both of Bessie’s parents were born in Russia. Bessie spoke Russian. She could also speak English but could not read or write it, nor could she speak French.
Bessie, her husband John (twenty-one-years her senior) and five children lived at 3214 Wascana.
